Being the very smart mother I am, i brought snacks to keep her occupied during the hour long game. Being the little pig that she is, those snacks lasted all of 15 minutes. then, I got to chase her around in the dirt, follow her up and down the bleacher stairs and and get "looks" from fans on the other side when she would scream at me because I wouldn't let her drink some strange guys beer. Terrible, I know. Oh, and the game? Let's just say we won't have to clear our schedules to attend any end of season tournaments. Darn it.
On Monday, we went to the funeral for Kevins grandmother, Faye Miller. Reese did her best to entertain and lighten the mood. Again, being the brilliant mother I am, I made sure that we sat at the end of the row, just in case she got loud and we would need to leave the room. Just in case. Once we sat down, Reese realized that Hannah and Olivia Steinert were sitting in front of her. Very graciously, Olivia let her yank on her hair and giggle for a bit. Then, Reese spotted grandpa and grandma Udden across the aisle. She toddled over to play with them for awhile , then Kevin informed me maybe we should take her out. I agreed, especially since the service hadn't even started yet! Who knows who else she would have spotted and decided to go visit! So, she and I roamed the funeral home, eating snacks and entertaining various employees. After, I was informed that my shy, quiet daughter could be heard throughout the entire service. Fabulous. Of course, as soon as we got in the car to drive the 2 miles to the cemetary, she fell asleep. Nice timing. This is a picture from lunch after the service ofKatie, Hannah with Reese, Olivia, Emma holding Addison Howard(!) Karlie, Audrey and Lance.
Later that afternoon, we went to the pool with the Kanaga's and Steinerts. This is my sweet, demure daughter, in her new ruffled swimsuit, sitting on the table, gnawing on a chicken nugget. Such manners. I'm sure this will be a picture she'll hate later in life:)
After a swim and a nap (and 2 more sncks) Reese decided to show off her riding skills for everyone. Nothing says class like a Dora swim diaper and pink crocs. look out world!
Here are some more pool pictures of the girls!
